Anik Khan was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and ended up immigrating to Queens, NY when he was four years old. Khan is a very unique talent rising in the music industry, having influences in hip-hop and of course, his Bengali culture. Though history claims the two cultures are not synonymous, Khan plans on bridging the gap between his worlds.
With the recent release of his album Kites, the same titled single “Kites” is a song that details an aerial perspective of realizing what’s important to Khan. It’s a song dedicated to his loved ones, as they are the ones steering Khan (like a kite) and keeping him up. And if he’s falling, they are the ones to catch him so that they can lift him up once more.
