THEY. – Broken (feat. Jessie Reyez)
THEY. released Fireside almost a month ago and this by far has been my favorite track off the EP. It’s too short. It features strong vocals from the popular Jessie Reyez over top a perfectly placed guitar chord. Get ready to run this one back a couple of times.
The 1975 – Sincerity Is Scary
The 1975 is one of those bands where I honestly don’t know what route their going to take with their music. One minute they sound like 90’s alt-rock, another minute I feel like I’m back in the 80’s, the next minute I’m taken into the future sound of alternative. It’s crazy! But this song sounds as if Chance The Rapper and Donnie The Trumpet produced this. Maybe – either way, I love it. Off of their latest album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, this is “Sincerity Is Scary”.
Jax Jones – Play
Jax Jones = real house music. He’s returned with another winner of a track called “Play” and it features the British pop-synth band Years & Years.
King Princess – Pussy Is God
This song has done numbers since they publish the music video for it. Over 1 million views in a month. The song title will either throw you off or make you chuckle, or both, whatever. This song though is well done. Good for 19 year old King Princess.
Vic Mensa – Dark Things
A dark video for a dark themed song. Vic is another artist who has experimented with sound elements for a while. I appreciate artists who step out of the comfort zone to try different things.
Quinn XCII – Werewolf
Quinn XCII has such a cool sound. He could sing about the most depressing things, layer it over a dope beat, and still gets the party going.
