Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots
Before the season started, this was probably the popular pick for the AFC Championship. And it should be. The Steelers have an incredible offense with a defense that is good enough to win football games. The Patriots are the Patriots. Until Brady leaves, they’ll be competing for a Super Bowl. Plus, look at the QBs the Patriots have played this year. It’s absolutely comical.
The offenses will be the focus during this game. Pro Bowlers and future Hall of Famers are lined up for both offensive units. The triple B’s vs. Brady. And guess what? I’m taking Brady almost every time, but definitely take him in every game he plays at home. The New England defense and fan base will do enough to let Brady outscore that prolific offense.
Also, one more note: The Steelers social media buzzzzzzzzz by super star Antonio Brown. I know, he didn’t pull an OBJ and go to Miami, but the media is talking about it and blowing it up. The coach had to answer to it. Antonio had to apologize admitting it was totally disrespectful. And now there’s a little something being mentioned that’s not football related. You know how Belichick responded? That he’s not on “InstaChat” or “SnapFace.”
You never hear a peep out of New England during the postseason. If you do say something, you get traded or maybe even executed. Come on AB, be like LeBron and go zero dark thirty during the postseason. Pats by 6.
Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons
This is an interesting matchup. The NFC was all-in-all interesting the whole year, so it makes sense. The Packers are the hottest team in football. If I live in Green Bay or support the cheese heads, I don’t care if Aaron Rodgers hasn’t spoken to his family in 20 years. The guy is cold blooded. Rodgers will face Mr. Ice In His Veins, Matt Ryan, in the final game at the Georgia Dome.
Matt Ryan is a good QB and possibly the MVP this year. But not on the level of Aaron Rodgers. Ryan’s been to one NFC Championship game and lost. He’ll lose this week too. When Rodgers is discount double checking all over the gridiron while throwing dimes all over the field, you just can’t stop him. Olivia Munn must be making the veteran QB happy as of late, because he’s playing at the top of his game.
And this game does come down to the offenses. They’re both powerhouses with subpar defenses that have played well sometimes. The Georgia Dome will be absolutely rocking. But Rogers had no problem quieting the Dallas fans early. He’s got the experience and will lead the Packers back to the Super Bowl after what has been an absolute rollercoaster season for the green and yellow.
