Jules Rendell is a Birmingham-born singer-songwriter who’s now lived in London for the last decade. Her new single and music video is a thought-provoking song that explores the impacts of friendship on mental well-being.
“Old Friend” is the first single off of her fourth-coming album Imagine. You can expect her upcoming album to explore themes of mental health, self worth, perfectionism and imagination.
“I wanted to make music that reflected the sounds of the city I live in, and its pressures. When I was writing for the album, I felt such pressure around me; travelling at a million miles an hour but feeling like I was getting nowhere, concerned by how much sway ‘success’ had on my self worth. So I left London to see one of my oldest friends in Manchester and I felt centered again; I remembered who I was meant to be.”
Over the years, Rendell has shared the stage with artists like JP Cooper, Beverley Knight, and Gorillaz to name a few. Have a listen and look at the single below.
