Back again for another weekend of NCAA and NFL betting. Rough week last week as our hot streak comes to an end. Picks go 5-11-1 last week taking us to a 33-31-2 record overall. Exactly 50 percent. Without anymore delay let’s get to this weekends picks.
NCAA Week 8
Michigan v. Michigan State 12pm: Michigan State +7
Michigan has looked pretty dominant in their last few games including a 25 point win over Wisconsin last week. However, rivalry game with the home team getting points, in a series that MSU has dominated in recent history. Give me Sparty and the points.
Maryland v. Iowa 12pm: Iowa -10
Maryland has surprised some people up to this point in the season by being 4-2. Iowa is just a better team, especially in front of their home crowd. Iowa is definitely 10 points better than this Maryland team.
UL-Lafayette v. Appalachian State 3:30 pm: Over 68
Back to betting on these App State games, they have not let me down all year long. App is the 4th best scoring offense in the nation, while Lafayette has the 114th ranked scoring defense. App will win in a blow out. Just hoping Lafayette contributes to the point total a little bit here.
Alabama v. Tennessee 3:30 pm: Alabama -29
Yes, laying 29 points on the road in an SEC game seems idiotic, but does anyone out there see any reason to bet against the Crimson Tide right now? I don’t.
UCF v. ECU 7pm: Over 65
This game actually has a lot of bettors taking the Pirates with the points. I am going for the point total here. Home or away UCF has the potential to score 60 everytime they step on the field. I don’t see this one staying close for long.
Other NCAA Picks:
Air Force v. UNLV Friday 10 pm – Over 56
UNC v. Syracuse 12:20 pm – UNC +10
Buffalo v. Toledo 12pm – Buffalo -1.5
Clemson v. NC State 3:30 pm
Coastal Carolina v. UMASS 3:30 pm – Under 71
NFL Week 7 Best Bets
Titans v. Chargers 9:30 am: Titans +7
These London games are always a bit odd. Recently they have all been blowouts, but this one is between two teams who look different week to week. The Titans offense looks great one week against the Eagles and then can barely get past the 50 yard a few weeks later. The Chargers are the Chargers, they look good this year but they always find a way to shoot themselves in the foot a few times a season. In a unpredictable game like this I like taking the points.
Patriots v. Bears 1pm: Patriots -3
Remember everyone counting the Pats just a few weeks go? On the flip side everyone might have anointed the Bears as contenders this year, too early. Even on the road the Pats will cover here.
Saints v. Ravens 4:05 pm Over 49.5
Yes, the Ravens defense looked dominant last week, albeit against a stale Titans offense. The Saints are a dangerous offense and I think this Ravens team can hang around any team this year. Going with the over.
Rams v. 49ers 4:25 pm – Rams -10
Lets not overthink this game too much. 49ers off a short week in which they gave it everything they had to almost beat the Packers. Now they have to face arguably the best team in the league. Rams cover the 10 here.
Lions v. Dolphins 1pm – Lions -3
Taking the Lions here for one reason, Brock Osweiler. He played good last week yes, but come on, two weeks in row? Lions coming off a bye week helps them cover on the road.
Browns v. Buccaneers 1pm – Bucs -3.5
Look no matter how much talent they have the BRowns are still the Browns when they have this coaching staff. They were a favorite at certain points throughout last week and game time came around and they did not show up. Once again we fade the Browns. Bucs cover.
Other NFL Game Picks:
Panthers v. Eagles 1pm – Panthers +5
Cowboys v. Washington 4:25 pm – Over 41.5
Rams v. 49ers 4:25 pm – Under 52.5
Cowboys v. Washington 4:25 pm – Washington -1
Bonus this week and going to throw in a teaser that I like after looking into some.
3-Team 7 point teaser (+120)
Bucs +3.5/Patriots +4/Colts -.5
