After a rough two weeks we had a great bounce back week in our last outing. Picks went 14-6 across all slates taking our overall record to 47-37-2 (.547)
We have a great slate of games this weekend. NCAA is in conference play and the NFL teams have taken full form and division races are taking shape. Lets try and stay hot, here are this weekends picks!
Clemson v. Florida State 12 pm: Clemson -17 and Over 50
This Clemson team has turned the corner after a couple of close games after Trevor Lawrence took the reins. This is their second road game in a row but I do not see Florida State keeping it close for all four quarters. Take the Tigers and the over here.
UMASS v. UCONN 12pm: UCONN +5
Matchup of two pretty bad teams here. UCONN looking for only their second win of the season here and I think they get it outright. Two bad teams, I’m taking the home dog and the points.
USF v. Houston 3:30 pm: Houston -7.5
Remember last week when ranked Cincinnati went into Temple as a 3.5 point dog? They lost. This is another fishy line game in my opinion. USF is a ranked team that is a dog on the road. Yes, Houston is a solid football team but Vegas is wanting the public to come in, see the ranked team getting points and put money on them. Take the Cougars and watch them win by double digits.
Florida v. Georgia 3:30 pm: Georgia -7
Huge rivalry game here in SEC play. Georgia came out last year and demolished the Gators. That team went on the National Championship game. Now this years Georgia team is not as good as last years, but they are still better than Florida. Coming off a bye week with time to prepare for this game, I like UGA to come out and show the nation why no one should write them off just yet.
TCU v. Kansas 3pm: Over 49
This line is looks pretty low for a Big 12 game, but TCU has struggled this year and Kansas as struggled for, well the last like 10 years. These two teams have played fairly low scoring games in the past, lets fade that trend and go over here, TCU wins in a shootout.
Other NCAA Picks:
Texas Tech v. Iowa State – Texas Tech +4
Southern Miss. v. Charlotte – Over 44
MTSU v. Old Dominion – ODU +4
Navy v. Notre Dame – Under 53
Rice v. North Texas – Over 57
NFL Week 8 Best Bets
Browns v. Steelers 1pm: Steelers -8
I have been saying it here for weeks, the Browns are still the Browns. Good talent and Hard Knocks hype had people believing in this team. With a head coach who has only won 3 games in 2 and half seasons how can we trust this team to even cover a spread. Steelers blow them out this week.
Ravens v. Panthers 1 pm – Panthers +2.5
This could possibly be the best game we have in the Sunday day game slate. Something does not seem right with the Ravens being a favorite on the road against this Panthers team after last week. Flacco is a sub .500 QB on the road after a home loss. Another great trend stat I like here is this, In October or later Cam Newton has faced a defense allowing 17 ppg or fewer (Ravens Currently at 14) 5 times, he is 4-1 ATS in those games. Panthers at home get it done and not only cover but win outright. Could be value on the Panthers ML at +120
Jets v. Bears 1pm – Jets +8
I like this Jets team, the loss of Bilal Powell hurts a bit though. However, this pick is about how much I don’t trust this Bears team. The public loves the Bears coming off of the impressive game against in the Pats in which they hung in there down to the last play. Could this be a hangover game? Take the points and watch Darnold keep this one a tight game.
49ers v. Cardinals 4:25 pm – Cardinals +1.5
A game here with two teams who have looked less than stellar this year to say the least. Two bad teams with the home team getting points. Advice here is to take the points and don’t watch the game.
Raiders v. Oakland 4:05 pm – Over 50.5
This total has actually dropped a bit and will probably drop even more, which I like. This Colts offense looked great last week, granted against the Bills, but still. Andrew Luck is throwing the ball over 50 times a game which means we have the potential for points. Pair that with the Raiders having the 22nd ranked pass defense, extreme potential for points. Take the over.
Other NFL picks:
Broncos v. Chiefs – Broncos +10
Eagles v. Jaguars – Jaguars +3.5
Bucs v. Bengals – Bengals -4
Packers v. Rams – Under 57
