UK’s Tom Misch teases his listeners with another track off of his anticipated album, Geography, called “Water Baby.” It features Loyle Carner who shows off his conversational, spoken word talents over the jazzy-pop instrumentation.
The song itself speaks on Misch battling the ups and downs of life. The chorus leads with:
“‘Cause I was born of water baby
Swimming with these times
The grooves would turn the grey to sunshine”
Misch juxtapositions himself and water as one entity, only to use the grooves of water as an analogy of sound and music; ultimately helping his gloomy days seem not so bad. Hence why Carner alludes to and repeats “go with the flow of this water.” Geography is set to release on April 6th this year. Listen to the full track below.
