This morning we bring you a dosage of singer/songwriter/freestyler Olive B. Coming out of Toronto, Olive B. uses her classically trained background of freestyling alone over basic guitar chords or over atmospheric beats to help hone her craft.
It was doing this repeatedly at parties did the Torontonian recognize her love and outlet that is music. She ended up meeting fellow Toronto producer Kayobe who was looking for a singer for his single “Sun Don’t Shine”. The two made an immediate connection and from there the relationship spiraled into a co-writing and producing collab of Olive B.’s debut album no(w)here, which was released May 29 of last year.
Her newest track titled “Joey Moon” was produced by Vancouver based producer Chewy. The song’s title was named after Olive’s dad’s high school band. “Joey Moon” is the follow up to her April released called “Always You”. Have a listen to the track below.
