We are back for week 5 of NCAA and week 4 for the NFL after a solid 8-6 week overall last week. If you follow me on twitter (@Alex_Fisher11), I tweet out extra picks every Saturday and have been red hot in NCAA. Gave out an extra 5 winners last Saturday on NCAA games, taking all my NCAA picks last week to 10-3 record. Let’s get going!
NCAA Week 5 Picks
Memphis v. Tulane Friday 8 pm: Memphis -14 and Over 66
We get the weekend wagers started off early with a bet for the Friday night game. I like watching Memphis, they know how to score. Tulane gave up 56 to Memphis last year. On the road or not, I don’t really care. Lay the points, take the over and watch the Tigers score a ton.
UL-Lafayette vs. #1 Alabama 12 pm: Over 67
Short and sweet here, Bama wins in a blowout in which they might cover the over themselves. I mean they are 48 point favorite.Take the over and hope Lafayette can contribute a few points.
Indiana v. Rutgers 12pm: Indiana -17.5 and Over 51
This Rutgers defense is terrible, allowing 39 points a game. IU beat them 41-0 last year. Two straight years with blowouts here. Might as well take the over as well.
Pittsburgh v. UCF 3:30 pm: UCF – 14
This UCF team is legit again this year and McKenzie Milton deserves some Heisman hype; the man knows how to play QB. Also, the Knights are averaging a cool 50 points a game. UCF in a easy win, easy cover.
South Alabama v. App State 3:30 pm: App -25.5
If you bet sports, just about every year you find a team that you like to bet on week after week. This year it is this App team for me. Mountaineers are 3-0 ATS this year and that streak continues this week. Homecoming weekend in Boone, App comes to play and wins big.
Iowa St. v. TCU 7pm: TCU -10.5
Although they have lost two in a row, we should not forget this TCU was ranked in the top 20 just a few weeks ago. They are at least 10 points better than Iowa St. Public is probably fading TCU while Iowa St. still gets credit for their close game against OU, making this line smaller than it should be.
Ohio State v. Penn State 7:30 pm: Penn State +3.5
Okay, I feel like I have to wager on this game just because it is the game of the week and probably the biggest game we have had so far this year. Penn State is a 3 point dog in Happy Valley. I’m going Nittany Lions.
NFL Week 5 Best Bets
Bengals v. Falcons 1 pm – Falcons -4
Bounce back game here for the Falcons after a tough loss last week. Lots of money on Bengals, we could see this line drop to 3.5 in some places.
Dolphins v. Patriots 1 pm – Over 48
Dare we say “must win” game for the Pats here? Their offense looked pretty stale last week but the Pats seem to never lose a bounce-back game like this when they need a win. Dolphins O looks good. They will add points on. Going over.
Eagles v. Titans 1 pm – Titans +4
This Titans defense has looked pretty good so far this year in their two wins. I think this one stays close and low scoring. Two QBs trying to get back in the groove from injury, with decent defensive play. Random stat, the QB with the most “game winning” drives since the start of 2017 – Marcus Mariota.
Browns v. Raiders 4:05 pm – Browns +3
Making this pick for one reason… Baker Mayfield. Plus Gruden is stuck coaching in the old days. Browns make it two wins in a row and their first win on Sunday in over 1000 days.
